BIOSCICAT begins the study of the only Iberian population of the "Cargola del Cap de Creus"

In the coming months, BioSciCat's "Unique" program will have the support of the Fundación Biodiversidad, the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, the Department of Territory and Sustainability of the Generalitat de Catalunya, as well as the collaboration of the Natural Park of Cap de Creus, for the study of the "Cargola del Cap de Creus" (Erodium foetidum); an endemic and threatened plant, declared endangered, which only survives in two isolated locations of the world, golfe du Lion, in France, and Cap de Creus, in Catalonia.

This initiative co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) will allow a series of studies to be carried out on the species, focused on its ecology, distribution, and population evolution, with the aim of setting the basis for the drafting of the recovery of the species.
